Technocrat practices have already taken over most of the medical industry with so-called 'evidence-based' treatments. IBM's Watson program, for instance, claims better diagnosis and treatment of cancer than highly skilled physicians. We will soon be hearing, "The algorithm will see you now..."
Technocracy uses science to perfect social engineering on a global scale, but Technocrats have no answers on how to handle displaced workers... except to just give them money. This will result in creating a new societal class of people who are unemployable and hence locked into permanent poverty.
The genie is already out of the bottle, but advanced AI researchers are now very concerned about how their creations will be used in autonomous warfare. AI is close to becoming self-replicating, meaning that rogue applications bent on killing humans could multiply until the human race is extinguished.
