This is a press release from Nissan and the last line says that they will use a 'simulator' to demonstrate at the giant CES slow. In other words, they are faking it for now, but claim they are the first to develop such technology
Disruption is the most prominent meme in 2018, as evidenced by retail carnage at all levels. Should the Internet also suffer disruption in the future, the retail infrastructure will be found to be missing. In the meantime, jobs will be shed in record numbers.
Chinese Technocrats could employ many of China's 1.4 billion citizens to make bombs, but they choose to use AI controlled robots instead. Technocrats build because they can, not because there is good reason to do so.
Millennials will be convinced that dystopia is straight ahead, thanks to global warming, and the only place where life can be found is within virtual reality. Whereas the Matrix movie presented a compulsory virtual reality that no one was aware of, Ready Player One is voluntary submission. However, virtual reality will re-wire a person's mind to the point where they cannot distinguish between reality and fantasy; such a mind will be easily controlled by whomever controls the fantasy.
The Fourth Amendment is clear: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Technocrats hate the U.S. Constitution.
Rogue agencies run by Technocrats will do whatever they feel is justified by their data, regardless of legal authorization or legal basis. It is easier for them to act first, then risk censure later, which is usually ignored for a few weeks or months before restarting the same practices.
The killer drone race is running amok as DARPA is sponsoring flying aircraft carriers with long-range drones equipped with precision ordinance that can automatically return to their flying 'carrier'. This is the nexus of the military-industrial complex and Technocracy.
Technocrats claim they are all about the Scientific Method and being 'evidence-based' but they spend much of their time in pure speculation about the future - which many people then take as evidence of reality. This is circular reasoning at its worst.
This year saw some 7,000 retail stores shuttered, thanks to online shopping and in particular, Amazon; 2018 could be another banner year for closings, driving many malls to extinction as well. Most retailers are certainly not Technocrats, but Amazon is and it is intent on decimating the entire retail industry in America.
Resistance against surveillance is rising among Chinese citizens, including avoidance of apps designed to snitch on their neighbors. China is a Technocracy with very autocratic control over citizens, so we will be watching to see if the trend to resist will grow or get squashed.
