In my early Christian life circa the mid-1970s. I remember hearing a Bible prophecy teacher offer an explanation of Revelation 13:3 which states, “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” This verse refers to the Antichrist and the fact that he comes back to life after being killed by some type of mortal wound.
The teacher suggested that Hitler and Nazism were mortally wounded at the end of WWII but that it would rise from the dead in the future. I didn’t agree with this at the time, and I still don’t because the Bible is very clear that the Antichrist is a person, not merely an ideology.
However, it is fair to say that the Antichrist will have an ideology when he takes over the world.
Putting that aside, the astonishingly rapid rise of an authoritarian police state surrounding the COVID virus looks ever so similar to Nazi Germany in the 1930s. The whole world said the horrors of Nazism were absolutely dead and would never be allowed back onto the world stage again.
Until now?
Nazism was environmentally as green as the Green New Deal is today. It wanted to restore the earth, protect the forests and cleanse the land. Nazism was totally all about eugenics. cleansing the gene pool and creating a master race. It tried to get rid of all Jews, blacks, gypsies, the handicapped and mentally disturbed. There was no mercy extended by jack-booted thugs. You either obeyed or you suffered the consequences of being beaten or killed.
The high priest of Nazism, Adolph Hitler, was also a poster child for Technocracy. He never called it that, but he worked with the Technocrats in Germany to orchestrate his killing machine. He saw technology as the solution to his “final solution” as millions were exterminated.
Nazism was geographically limited to Europe during WWII. Today’s scourge is global and yet there is no Hitleresque figurehead to take the limelight. Today’s dictatorship is purely scientific thus far, where the AI algorithms are running everything. But there are people and leaders behind it all. Some we can easily see, like Klaus Schwab, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Eric Schmidt, etc., but there are certainly more behind the curtain.
